PCS2013 CHINA – PHILOSOPHY AND COGNITIVE SCIENCE

From Thursday the 7th to Friday the 8th of November 2013, the 4th International Conference of

PHILOSOPHY AND COGNITIVE SCIENCE Chairs: Li Ping and Lorenzo Magnani

took place at the South Campus of Sun Yat-Sen University, 135 XinGang Xi Lu, Guangzhou, China.

 

The conference was co-organized by the Department of Philosophy, Sun Yat-sen University, China, and the Department of Humanities, Philosophy Section, University of Pavia, Italy, with an assistance of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Xiamen University, China. The workshop also was an academic event that aimed to promote field-to-field cooperation and exchange between Chinese and European universities as well as between partners universities within the frame of One More Step, a mobility project funded by the European Commission Under the Erasmus Mundus programme, Action 2.

We invited contributed papers addressing the following topics:

  • mathematical and visual representation in science
  • theories, models, and theoretical modeling in science
  • psychological explanation
  • cognitive architecture and modularity
  • mental representation
  • innateness
  • naturalizing intentionality
  • folk psychology
  • folk epistemology
  • embedded, embodied, or grounded cognition
