4th Italian Congress of Herpetology (First announcement)

 Invitation

The 4th National Congress of Societas Herpetologica Italica will be held at Villa Campolieto, a famous Vesuvian Villa in Ercolano (Naples) from 18 to 21 June 2002.
The Congress is co-organised by Dipartimento di Zoologia and Dipartimento di Biologia Evolutiva e Comparata of Naples University Federico II, in collaboration with Vesuvius National Park and Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park.

Orfeo Picariello (President), Gaetano Odierna (Vice President), Fabio Maria Guarino (Secretary), Domenico Capolongo (Treasurer), Mario Milone (Board adviser).

Scientific Program

The following sections will be held: Tropical herpetofauna; Palaeontology, Biogeography, Systematics and Evolution, Morpho-physiology and Reproduction, Ecology and Ethology, Faunistics, Atlas, Museology and Conservation.

The Congress will include three full days dedicated to the presentation of scientific contributions and a day to spend for the national assembly of S.H.I. and field trip.The scientific contributions will be presented as oral communication or as poster, according to the scientific committee

Congress Fee

The congress fee (90 Euro for full participants and 45 Euro for students) will cover registration, opening party, book of program and abstracts, field trip, proceedings and coffee breaks. Details of methods of payment will be provided with the Second Announcement.
Details concerning accommodation and meals will be available in the 2nd announcement.
