Abstract

Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989, the political and economic reshaping of Europe has been centred on the relationship between the West (the European Union), and the East (Central Eastern Europe). The stakes are high, both for Europe as a whole and for individual States and business. Many businesses have predicated their strategies on the success of the relationship. The aim of this paper is to analyse the managerial rational (part I), and to use specific examples to describe the process (part II).
